Adult Adventure Camp See All Times

October 23, 2016

Not all the fun is for the kids! Immersion is often the easiest way for adults to move forward in their riding. Lessons are augmented by demonstrations and lectures covering everything: barn management and nurition, basic equine medical care, biomechanics and form, how to control your horse at a gallop, and more.

Designed for a working schedule, this camp consists of half-days during the week and a full weekend long days. Short days will consist of lessons and lectures, while the weekends will add in distance trail riding components. We often video or photograph sessions to be reviewed later.

The camp will start promptly at 12pm and go until 7:00pm on Thursday and Friday. On the weekends camp will go from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Camp will be at the Painted Bar Stables in Burdett, located on Route 79.

Things that you will need every day:
  • Lunch - we will eat as a group while we debrief for the day.
NOTE: employees purchase their lunch next door at the Dandy Gas Station.
  • 2 Water Bottles or Juice
  • Generous Snacks!!!!!
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Riding Boots
  • Gloves (for working in the barn and riding)
  • Proper attire: pants, comfortable shirts, good socks. Please tell your kids to dress intelligently!
  • You own helmet.

A GOOD AND FLEXIBLE ATTITUDE!
Remember before coming to camp that this is not a competition and nobody has anything to prove in terms of their riding - this is supposed to be fun and an opportunity for personal growth as well as growth as an entire group. Riders may or may not get their first choice in horses - some horses are coming off of pregnancies, some may be lame or injured, and a variety of other factors. One of these factors is that we want to select the horse that will teach them the most throughout the week and offer them the best learning experience. The mantra we will be repeating is "There is no bad horse, only mistaken riders."

You will be receiving an email about digitally signing a waiver. Please sign it online so that we are ready to go the day of camp!

If you have paid a $150 deposit for camp, you will need to pay the remainder which is $450. Total cost of camp is $600. If you are paying per day it is $200 per day.

Looking forward to riding!
